$4.9 million road project gets underway in Princeton

Posted: Updated:
PRINCETON, IN (WFIE) -

A traffic alert for drivers today, INDOT will close the ramps at State Road 64 and U.S. 41 in Princeton Monday.

This work is a part of the $4.9 million Highway 41 Road Resurfacing Project.

Crews will close one loop, mill off the existing pavement and clean the roadway. When they're done with that, they'll re-open the loop and close another.

This process will continue for all four loops.

They think they can get two loops done each day.

Once all milling and clean up is complete, crews will then begin paving. The same process will be used, closing one loop at a time and completing the paving.

They expect all of this work to be complete by this Friday, September 28.

During the closure traffic will use the other loops of the interchange for detours.

Another Princeton closure you should know about for Monday, State Road 64 less than a mile east of the State Road 65 east junction will close to through traffic starting at 7 a.m. on Monday; this is for a structure replacement project on Princeton's east side. However, local traffic will have access to the point of closure.

Slow down and pay special attention as you travel this area this week.
