Cold start to fall

Posted: Updated:
TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

Monday morning's cold air isn't unheard of for September, but it is a bit unusual this early in the season.

Although temperatures won't fall to the freezing mark this morning, we've been in the ballpark in several areas.

On average, 32 degree lows typically occur during the last 10 days of October.  The average first 28 degree reading usually happens sometime during the first 10 days of November.

Of course, it's way too early to see any snow, but you might be interested to know that the earliest measurable snowfall in Evansville was on October 19th.
