Two people were hurt this morning after an accident on Evansville's east side. It happened around 8:30 a.m.

Police say a driver headed north on Villa became distracted and ran a stop sign. That's when his truck was hit by an SUV heading west on Bellemeade.

The impact sent the truck into the front yard of a home. Both vehicles had to be towed.

It was quite a morning wake up for the man living in the home where this all happened. He just moved in a week ago.

"I heard the fire truck and I came outside. Then I saw the car, I thought hit the tree and then I saw the other car and I saw the guy on the ground, the other guy with a neck brace. So, it was pretty scary for a few moments," said Matthew Castro

Matthew tells us he's learned accidents happen fairly often in that area.
