An inmate that had escaped the custody of Kentucky authorities has been caught in Ohio County.
According to KSP Troopers, 20-year-old Dylan T. Scaggs was being taken from Carter County to Fulton County by Fulton County authorities. During a planned stop at the Western Kentucky Parkway Travel Center, Scaggs managed to kick off his ankle shackles and flee from authorities.
According to reports, Scaggs ran across both westbound lanes of the Western Kentucky Parkway and through a soy bean field heading north.
Scaggs was taken back into custody on 1543 between Hartford and Beaver Damn by members of the Ohio Co. Sheriff's Office and KSP.
There were no injuries during the search.
Scaggs was being held on theft and other persistent felony related offenses.
