A Chandler ballot item five years in the making

WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

Warrick County officials are getting ready for November election, and on Wednesday, the ballot was made official.

Chandler residents will have to decided on a ballot issue that has take five years to develop.

Following the Chandler annexation in 2007 there were legal disputes that, until now, meant some county residents were not officially been considered part of the town. Those issues have now been resolved.

Due to the added population, two additional council members could be added.

Currently there are three council members, two share about half of Chandler and Kenny Irvin oversees the entire other half.

State Street divides districts, east and west, and south of Highway 62 is another district.

If residents vote to increase to five council members there will be one for each section of Chandler and one at large town council member.
