LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville woman charged with her baby's death did show up to court Wednesday morning after being threatened with jail time.
Tuesday Geneva Walters failed to show up for a pre-trial conference. Judge Olu Stevens was so upset he threatened to issue a warrant for her arrest if she did not show up Wednesday.
Walters told police she gave her son, 8-month-old Michael Cowherd, adult-strength pain killers and left him in a bathtub.
She could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted in his death.
