    LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The first Bardstown police officer killed in the line of duty in the department's 150-year history was ambushed, possibly from a hilltop, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's
    The coroner said a 12-gauge shotgun was used to shoot K-9 Officer Jason Ellis multiple times -- possibly from a hilltop -- early Saturday morning on an off-ramp leading from the Bluegrass Parkway to Highway 55 in Nelson County.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Allyson is excited to be calling Evansville her new home.

She graduated cum laude from THE Ohio State University in Columbus with a degree in journalism.

At Ohio State, Allyson was the sports editor and webcast anchor of the student newspaper, The Lantern, and loved covering Buckeye football.

During her time as a student, she completed internships with the CBS Evening News in New York and at WCMH in Columbus, Ohio. 

Allyson is a alumna of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Beta Nu chapter.

In her free time, Allyson enjoys shopping, playing tennis, spending time with her family and watching her Cincinnati teams: the Reds and the Bengals.
