INDIANA (WFIE) -
Here's some good news.
A new report shows the manufacturing sector in the U.S. is on an upswing.
The Tri-State Manufacturers Alliance, a part of the Chamber of Commerce for Southwest Indiana held a seminar today to talk about how this affects Indiana.
That new report is called the McGladrey Monitor Report, and it monitors the manufacturing and distribution sector in the U.S.
This year it found 40 percent of manufacturers said they are thriving, which is still productive, but that's down about 5 percent from last year.
Some experts say that decrease is because of manufacturers fears about the U.S. and world economies.
So where does Indiana fit in?
Experts at McGladrey say the state had 6.2 percent job growth, and Indiana has experienced a strong recovery in recent years and that has companies interested in Indiana.
Karen Kurek, from McGladrey LLP said, "Given the relative health of the state of Indiana, you know the fiscal health of the state, it is much more attractive for a company to locate here versus Illinois or Wisconsin. So that is also helping Indiana. "
Experts at McGladrey that I spoke with did want to point out that in general, they found businesses are optimistic.
