Evansville Police have confirmed the identity of a man found shot to death this morning.

He is 24 year old Cedric Jamall Watt. Watt is a Henderson, Kentucky resident.

Police were called to the 1000 block of W. Delaware at 3:10 a.m. Monday morning for a shots fired complaint. The caller heard at least one gunshot and saw Watt lying on the sidewalk.

The first officer arrived within 30 seconds of the call and found Mr. Watt unresponsive. Watt was pronounced dead at the scene by the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office.

In May, Cedric Watt was arrested on a charge of Manufacturing Meth and Possession of a Legend Drug.

Investigators are following up on information gathered at the scene and from potential witnesses.

"There was some type of contact we believe between the victim and the suspect, at least just prior to the shooting. We don't know if they knew each other prior to this morning, or exactly what transpired when they were out there, but we do believe there was some type of interaction between them prior to the shots being fired," Jason Cullum with the Evansville Police said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 812-436-7979.
