EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Evansville Police say two armed robberies are related and involved the same two suspects.

The first holdup happened in June at the Liquor Locker on Morgan Avenue. The second was on Sunday night at the Family Dollar Store on Vann Avenue.

In both robberies, one of the suspects had a gun while the other suspect appeared to serve as a lookout. As of tonight, they're still on the loose.

Surveillance video from June shows a violent, surprise attack on a clerk at the Liquor Locker on Morgan Avenue.

"That one was pretty violent. One of the clerks was actually grabbed around the neck from behind and had the gun up to his head," said Sgt. Jason Cullum with Evansville Police.

Police say the two brazen suspects may be behind another armed robbery Sunday at the Family Dollar Store on Vann Avenue, but so far, few witnesses are coming forward.

"Not a lot of information coming from the public. Somebody that commits these crimes usually talk about it. Somebody has heard about it and they're just not sharing that information," Cullum said.

Some neighbors in Evansville say they're concerned by a recent spike in crime.

"I think with the economy the way that it is, it plays a factor no doubt. You know, times are tough, you know, you see more crime," said Evansville resident Ryan Gash.

"As Americans, I guess we all have to watch each other's backs pretty much, you know, and try to look out for everybody," said resident Nick Williams.

"Wondering what's going to happen? What are people going to do about this because it seems to be getting worse and worse," said westsider Angela Horn.

In both videos, a man wears a red bandana over his face, but police believe the other suspect who appears to be a lookout, may be a female. They're considering both suspects to be armed and dangerous.

"Even the smallest bit of information can turn an investigation in a completely different direction and come to a quick resolution," Cullum said.

Police are asking the public for any tips that can help them solve these crimes.  No suspects have been made public. Police are continuing their investigation...
