EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Evansville Police say that an armed robbery happened late Saturday night at the Kwik Stop on Pollack Avenue.
Those who live in the area say they're not surprised.
That robbery happened at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, and police say they still haven't made any arrests.
The Kwik Stop is located in the 4300 block of Pollack Avenue near Burdette Avenue. According to the police report, two men came into the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The employee who was working behind the register at the time, says the men ran north from the store after taking money and a laptop.
The report also says crime scene detectives and officers arrived and tried to track the suspects with a K-9 unit. So far, police have not reported the arrests of either suspect, but the store's manager says she thinks she knows one of the suspects.
Neighbors say the Kwik Stop is robbed often, and that some extra police patrols might put a stop to that.
"Seems about that time, about 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., that they always seem to hit. So maybe if they would kinda be on this site and be around a little bit more, they might catch them," neighbor Mary Milburne said.
If you have any information regarding Saturday night's robbery at the Kwik Stop, you are encouraged to contact law enforcement.
