EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Rotaract Club of Evansville, sponsored by
Rotary International, is going to announce an exciting new partnership with Ark Crisis
Child Care Center on September 27th.
"Community service is the foundation of
Rotaract's mission. We are here to let
the community know that as young professionals we are committed to doing our
part to make a difference. What better
way than to partner with Ark Crisis Center and help those children in our
community that need it most." said Rotaract's project chairperson, Jess
Sickman.
The announcement will be held at Ark Crisis Child Care Center at 415 Lincoln Avenue, in Evansville at 1pm.
"As a small, not-for-profit organization, we
rely on the generosity of the community to be able to provide the best possible
care for the children and families we serve. This announcement involves a
project that we'd only dreamed about, until Rotaract got involved," said Ark's
Executive Director, Angie Richards Cooley.
Rotaract's
motto, "Service Above Self" shows the humanitarian spirit of nearly 1.2
million Rotarians worldwide. We are a
network of young business, professional and community leaders who volunteer our
time and talents to serve our community.
Monthly service projects include working with the United Caring Shelter,
Boys and Girls Club, 911 Gives Hope, and the Christian Life Center, just to
name a few. Most recently the Rotaract
Club of Evansville contributed $24,000 to the Vanderburgh Community Foundation.
