SPENCER CO, IN (WFIE) -

The Indiana Supreme Court has set an execution date for Roy Lee Ward, who's been on death row for the 2001 murder of Spencer County teenager Stacy Payne.

The state Supreme Court ordered the sentence to be carried out on December 11th, but the court also said Ward has not received the review he may be entitled to in federal court.

In June, the Indiana Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling and the death penalty in the Ward case.
