Officials have had new surveillance cameras installed inside the county's jail and inside the Superior Court Building.
County officials wanted to install cameras in several county buildings, and the devices are already paying off in the jail.
"All of the blind spots in our facility have been covered, so the shortcomings we used to have with the older system, have been nailed up, and we're really proud of what we got here," said Posey County Sheriff Greg Oeth.
44 cameras were installed everywhere but the bathrooms by a company named Cellular Nation Video Security.
Outside cameras allow for pan, tilt and zoom.
8 devices have also been installed at the Superior Court Building. There are even cameras in the holding cells.
The sheriff and his staff can access the video surveillance 24 hours a day over on the Internet or on their cell phones.
"The system is routed through their network. There they can always connect," said Cory Hollingsworth with Cellular Nation Video Security.
"It's a help for even the community when they're handling this type of environment of prisoners and transporting at the jail," County Commissioner Scott Moye said.
The new state-of-the-art system replaces the jail's old black-in-white, no audio, VHS recordings.
The cameras have only been installed a month and Sheriff Oeth says they've already captured plenty of action.
"We have on video an assault on a staff member already. We have a video recording of a inmate against inmate assault and we have on video some destruction on the property inside the jail. It's a tremendous sigh of relief from a liability standpoint," Oeth said.
County officials have several more buildings they'd like to install cameras.
When it's all said and done, the price tag is estimated to be about $50,000. Money from the Housing of Department of Correction Inmates is being used.
