EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The United Way fundraising campaign started last Friday, and a local company has already made a sizeable donation.

That donation was made by Atlas Van Lines.

The company announced on Monday they have donated more than $100,000 to the United Way.

That sum will help United Way reach it's goal of raising $4 million 250 thousand this year.

That $100,000 donation included a $26,000 corporate gift, and more than $70,000 was raised by Atlas employees. They started raising that money in August. Most of the donations came out of employees pay checks, and the rest was good ol' fashion fundraising.

"Game day was definitely popular. We had everybody come and pay a dollar for three tickets. We had corn hole, we had a cup cake walk to keep with the birthday theme this year. Just several games that everybody could come and play and have a little fun," said Sarah Whitaker with Atlas marketing.
