PRINCETON, IN (WFIE) -
Gibson County is planning to post some new artwork in Princeton in the coming months, and they say, they want the community's input in deciding some of the details.
Representatives of Princeton's Onsite Occupational Health and Safety Inc. are heading up a project to place a new mural in Princeton's town square.
Michelle Prinzing of OHS says the mural will be painted by Randall Hedden, who has painted similar murals in Vincennes and Petersburg.
Prinzing says the mural will be placed on the eastern wall of Princeton's historic Palace Restaurant. The mural will include depictions of the old train station, the old Gibson County Bank building, and a collection of Gibson County's historical figures.
But, Prinzing says they need your help now, to decide which of five iconic figures will go on the mural.
"Randall Hedden picked out a few possibilities," said Prinzing. "People like Henry Chambers, Orville Redenbacher, John Gibson, Dave Thomas. And all those names, I think, mean something to the people here in Princeton, and I'm sure there are others,a and we are just kind of curious to know what people are thinking."
Prinzing says you can let them know who you would like to see on the mural by clicking here to visit their website. Simply go to the contacts page, scroll down, enter your name and contact info, write-in who you would like to see on the mural, and click 'send it.'
