Yes for Unification has released a list of 18 bipartisan supporters of the reorganization referendum.
The two sides are holding meetings ahead of the November vote.
The list is comprised of local and state leaders including Sheriff Eric Williams, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, and Governor Mitch Daniels.
The plan for reorganization would merge the city and county governments and it will be up to the voters to decide.
"In these tough economic times, people want our government to operate just as our household does, cut corners here and there. Save money and that sort of thing. This is a great list we have people from all kinds of backgrounds," said city council member Jonathon Weaver.
"There are only eight elected local officials on that list. If that's all I had, four out of 11 and four out of 27, I probably wouldn't have made the list public," said Bruce Ungethiem who is against the reorganization.
