PIKE CO, IN (WFIE) -

Indiana State Police say they have arrested a man for failing to register as sex offender.

ISP says Tuesday afternoon, State Troopers and members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed an arrest warrant for 59-year-old Alfred Braunecker, of Winslow, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class D Felony.

Officials say last week, detectives from the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Section conducted compliance checks in Pike County.

They say during their investigation it was determined Braunecker, a convicted sex offender, had moved in early May to a different address in Winslow.  Authorities say Braunecker failed to inform the Pike County Sheriff's Department of that move.

Braunecker was arrested at his home without incident and taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
