EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A Marine, welcomed home Friday at Evansville Regional Airport.

Corporal Christopher Lynch greeted by family, friends and others after his second tour in Afghanistan.

After serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan Marine Cpl. Lynch of Evansville arrived back in the Tri-State Friday night.

His mom and dad, as well as his wife and twin two-year-old girls, were waiting to greet him in the terminal.

"His baby girls and his wife, they get the first hugs and then I'm going to wrap him up like no other," said Lynch's mother, Staci Lynch.

For Staci, it's a day that couldn't come soon enough. Her son's second tour overseas was the hardest for her after hearing the stories Chris told after his first mission.

"They don't tell you why they're there, so they wait until they get home. So, the second time you know what can happen and it just scares you," Staci said.

But that fear was cast aside once the plane touched down, bringing her son back home.

There were lots of hugs from family members before a large delegation from rolling thunder welcomed him home and thanked him for his service. Lynch grew up on Evansville's west side and says he can't wait to spend some time with family and friends.

"It's overwhelming," he said. "It's nice to have my family and Rolling Thunder here, definitely it shows how much Evansville supports their Marines, their soldiers, everybody. It's overwhelming.

Chris will be in Evansville for one week before heading to Camp Pendleton in California to serve out his remaining time in the Marines.
