CENTRAL CITY, KY (WFIE) -
Organizers in Central City are gearing up for the 11th annual Cruise In car and motorcycle show this weekend, but they're just hoping the threat of storms doesn't ruin the fun.
Organizers say this is one of the biggest events throughout the county all year, and they say last year it attracted roughly 30,000 people.
One of the biggest concerns is the amount of rain expected throughout the weekend. Organizers say rain or shine, they're still going to have Friday night's Cruise In and Saturday night's concert with the Duke Boys that will be held at the Felix Martin Auditorium in case of severe weather.
Organizers say they're going to decide Saturday, whether or not they plan to have the car show that is set to go from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 in the afternoon.
Chairman Hugh Sweatt says he hopes the weather isn't too bad, because this event brings such an economic boost and sense of tradition to the area.
"Hurricane Isaac is supposed to pay us a visit, we didn't invite him but I believe he's going to be here anyway," noted Sweatt "So, we may back up plans in the event something like that happens. As of right now, everything is scheduled to be just like it is."
All the action gets underway at 6:00 p.m. Friday. For more information on the event, click here.
