FORDSVILLE, KY (WFIE) -
"Prayers for the Pierce family" is the name of the Facebook group created to this week to help raise money and offer prayers to a Fordsville father and two of his children who were all badly in a wreck.
The Pierces were on their way from Fordsville to Owensboro on Monday when they were involved in a head-on collision.
They continue to recover, with the knowledge they have the strength and support of the community behind them.
"It's truly amazing," said Courtney Smeathers.
Courtney Smeathers and Brittany Daniel are family friends of the Pierces.
Smeathers set up and runs the Facebook page and Daniel has been helping with fundraising.
They say it's easy to stand behind a family like the Pierces.
"They're super supportive of whatever goes on around," said Daniel. "They support each fundraiser around town and everybody...I mean they're supportive of whatever's going on and they're a super humble family."
"Their children, Sacara and Landon are both just amazing kids and Keith is an amazing man as well," said Smeathers.
The first fundraiser for the family was held last night and brought in $700. The funds are going to help pay medical bills.
"It's actually been amazing. Our community has pulled together so much to come together and be with this family," said Smeathers.
