TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

Local emergency officials are preparing for what could be flooding rains this weekend from the remnants of Tropical Depression Isaac.

Thursday, the Vanderburgh County EMA is watching Tropical Depression Isaac, and preparing for possible flash-flooding , which they say could most-likely happen Saturday.

They're offering empty sandbags if people think they may need them.

For some, Isaac is bringing memories of Ike's remnants a few years back, which toppled trees and left thousands without power in the Tri-State, but experts say that won't be the case here.  The storm could, however, still bring some gusty winds and heavy rain.

"If you have an area that you know floods, if we get four inches of rain, get some sandbags out there," advised the Deputy Director of the Evansville-Vanderburgh County EMA.  "If you know that your house will take some water in the basement, go ahead and raise your furniture up now. Have the situational awareness and do things that will avoid you having the issues."

If we do get hit with a storm, a reminder to drivers: Do not drive through standing water. At home, have flashlights and batteries on hand, and drinking water. It never hurts to have a weather radio...

The EMA says it will know more after a conference call set for Friday.
