POSEY CO., IN (WFIE) -

Indiana Congressman and US Senate candidate Joe Donnelly spent part of his day campaigning in the Tri-State.

14 News caught up with him as he stopped for lunch at Turoni's restaurant on north Main Street in Evansville.

Thursday morning, Donnelly and West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin spent time in Posey County, where the focus was on energy production.

"Every unit of energy we create here in the United States is a barrel of oil we don't have to get from Saudi Arabia or from some middle eastern country," Donnelly said. "It's about making America energy independent, it helps our national security, it helps create jobs. It's a win-win all the way across the board."

After lunch, Congressman Donnelly was heading to New Albany. He's running against Republican Richard Mourdock.
