Snake forces driver to pull over

Posted: Updated:
KNOXVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Tennessee man was driving on Interstate 40 when a snake popped its head through the air conditioner vent.

The man said the snake appeared to smile at him.

The driver decided to pull over in Knoxville and call troopers for help. Animal control made an appearance on the scene.

Everyone confirms the snake was not only in the car, but they couldn't remove the snake from the vent.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper John Carr, this is a common incident.

"Six years on the highway patrol, this is the first one," said Carr. "But as a sheriff's deputy, I dealt with this quite a bit, but yes this is the first snake call in a vehicle I've answered as a trooper."

The driver did have his car towed, because he didn't want to drive the car with a reptile hiding inside.

There was no information on what type of snake was in the car, and there is currently no sign of the snake in the car.
