EVSC reaches settlement in netbook lawsuit

VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

The EVSC has reached a settlement in their lawsuit over defective netbooks.

EVSC attorney Pat Shoulders says the school corporation now have full ownership of the netbooks and will be getting $50,000 to put towards the repairs of those machines.

Back in 2010, the EVSC filed a lawsuit because a large majority of netbooks were falling apart from what they say was a design flaw.

They say that when you removed the battery, the plastic on the back of the case would actually begin to break away. Then that caused a problem when you went to put the battery back in because the battery wouldn't snap all the way in. If the battery wasn't in all the way, it made it hard to open the screen, cracked it, and it wasn't a cheap fix.
