EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
The Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau is planning a road trip.
Several CVB commissioners, along with Executive Director Bob Warren and another staff member, will take a two and a half day trip to five cities next month.
They'll be checking out different baseball/softball complexes in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
They're planning to gather information as they weigh the possibility of bringing a sports complex to Evansville.
Earlier this summer, Warren told 14 News that the complex would likely have a price tag between $10 million and $13 million.
"We need to see what the competition is all about and what type of park we need to bring here. Because whatever we do bring here, we need it to be, we need people to come back every single year. It needs to be a very nice facility that has all the amenities that those clubs are looking for," said President of the CVB Board, John Montrastelle.
The group plans to leave September 17 and return September 19.
A site for a potential baseball/softball complex hasn't been announced.
