(WMC-TV) – The teenager convicted of sexually assaulting his toddler sister will spend time in prison for the crime.
James Prindle, who is now 17, was sentenced to 22 years for aggravated child abuse and neglect, 12 years for sexual battery, and four years for false reporting. He will serve those three sentences concurrently.
Prindle was 15 years old when he was arrested for the sexual abuse of his 23-month-old sister in Aug. 2010.
The teen was babysitting his two younger siblings at their home when his friends came over. After the assault, Prindle and his friends fabricated a story about a home invasion to cover it up.
The other two boys involved in the assault were both charged as juveniles. Prindle was charged as an adult.
In addition to his prison sentence, Prindle will be required to register as a sex offender and community supervision for life.
