Three injured in car/semi accident on Highway 41

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An accident involving a car and semi happened in Evansville at the intersection of Highway 41 and Mt. Pleasant Road.

The sheriff's office says it happened around 9:00 p.m. when a Camry rear-ended the semi.

Officials say 49-year-old Michael Patterson said he was having an argument with the other people in his car.

Patterson said he had become distracted an didn't see the semi tractor-trailer, driven by 37-year-old Jason Poe. 

Police say Patterson's car slammed into the rear of the semi truck.

Authorities say Patterson and two other juveniles in the car where taken to Deaconess for non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say Poe and Patterson had blood alcohol tests done at the hospital but Officials say do not believe drugs or alcohol are a factor.
