DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A decision in fiscal court, Monday morning will mean 52 new jobs at Glenmore Distillery in Owensboro.

Glenmore was awarded $150,000. The money will help build a warehouse on property it owns just west of the plant.

"They've been here a long time and are great corporate partners," said Wayne Foster of the Economic Development Committee.

The new jobs will come with the starting pay of $16 an hour.

"They would be full time jobs. They would be within our manufacturing operation whether that be shipping or bottling," said John Riley with Glenmore Distillery.

The money is part of a million dollars the court set aside for economic development over a year ago.

Officials say several companies applied with their plan of how to spend the money.

"It's taken this long for them to do their due diligence, you know dot all the I's, cross all the T's. Government works a lot slower than you know we do in private enterprise," said Al Mattingly, judge executive.
