Isaac Lurking

Parts of Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida are getting ready for the expected arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac, which could be a Category 2 hurricane when it's predicted to strike Wednesday.

Republican National Convention

Protesters have arrived in Tampa, Fla., for the Republican National Convention, but it's unlikely they'll cross paths with the GOP. Demonstrators are being kept blocks away, gathering in groups of several dozen to a few hundred. Some protesters also may be staying away from the convention because of the approaching tropical storm.

Fatal Fire

An autopsy is expected to be performed today on a victim of a fatal fire at Grandview Towers over the weekend.

Major Quake

Scientists say there's no longer a tsunami threat following a 7.4 magnitude quake off the coast of El Salvador. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was followed an hour later by a magnitude-5.4 aftershock. There've been no reports of damage or injuries.
