MCCRACKEN CO., KY (WFIE) -

Officials in McCracken Co., Kentucky say a fugitive wanted by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office has been arrested.

Authorities say around midnight Tuesday night the McCracken County Sheriff Department and Kentucky State Police K-9 assisted United States Marshals in arresting 31-year-old Jackie Whitley.

US Marshals say they tracked Whitley from the Evansville area to an address on Pool Road in McCracken County.

Officials say Whitley was wanted on a 2011 Warrant related to a residential burglary from Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Dept. and had recently led Posey County Sheriff's Deputies on a vehicle pursuit during which he was able to elude deputies and fled into Kentucky.

McCracken Co. authorities say that other jurisdictions had told them that Whitley had stated "he was not going back to prison" and there was a high likelihood he was in possession of a handgun.

Authorities say Whitley was located at 2860 Pool Road and taken into custody without incident.

Whitley was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail as a fugitive from another state.
