The 24th Annual Kentucky Deer Classic kicks off this weekend

MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) - The 24th Annual Kentucky Deer Classic kicks off this weekend in Muhlenberg County, and organizers say it attracts hundreds of people from all across the Tri-State.

If you're interested in hunting or you're just an outdoors person in general, this is your kind of event.

It features over a hundred vendors with the latest hunting gear and outdoors equipment for those in attendance to check out.

Hunting season is right around the corner and organizers say this is a perfect opportunity for people to replace old equipment and just learn about the sport.

There are going to be activities for all ages that include seminars, and games for the kids including a 3D archery shoot, paintball, and BB gun demonstrations.

This weekend's special guest will be Tim Farmer, who is the host of the nation's longest running outdoor television show, "Kentucky Afield".  He'll be sharing his stories and insight on his love for the outdoors.

All the action get's underway at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning and it will go until 4 p.m. The event is going to be at the Muhlenberg County Agriculture and Convention Center in Powderly, Kentucky.

Tickets are $5 a piece for adults and $2 for kids.

This is the Muhlenberg County chamber's largest annual fundraiser so there's going to be a whole lot going on.
