Southbound lane restrictions on US 41 start Monday

Posted: Updated:
HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

For those of you traveling across the Kentucy-Indiana state line, a reminder that there will be southbound lane restrictions on the US 41 Twin Bridges starting Monday, August 20.

Plans call for all southbound traffic to move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone starting at about 8:00 a.m. on Monday and continuing through next week.

The southbound work zone traffic restriction is expected to remain in place until about 3:00 p.m. each day.

Southbound motorists should be prepared to merge starting near the weigh station and be fully moved to the left-hand lane by the time they reach the end of the bridge.

Motorists can do their part to reduce traffic snarls by practicing patience and courtesy as they enter this work zone.

The southbound lane restriction is to allow a detailed inspection of the bridge structure.  Engineers are using a Snooper Truck to access the deck substructure on the bridge. To speed the inspection process, a climb team will be inspecting the bridge superstructure and inspectors will be using a man-lift to access the approaches.
