Students move in at UE for new school year

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Saturday was move in day at the University of Evansville.

Greek organizations and other university groups helped incoming freshman unpack boxes from their cars and settle in.

A new event this year called the Purple Picnic gave students and their families the opportunity to have lunch on campus.

Some freshman tell 14 News that group activities help make the transition into college more comfortable.

"It helps you feel more at home having people just be around you and meeting new people. Especially, there are my roommate's parents, so it's nice to be able to sit down with them and just talk," said freshman Anneliese Trapp.

Those freshman are also excited about UE's new tuition freeze. Current students are guaranteed the same tuition cost until they finish four years.
