An Owensboro man is in custody on Saturday and charged with murder after a tip from the public helped the sheriff's office identify the body found in the dilapidated barn in Spencer County back in June.
The Spencer County Sheriff's office says the man charged with murder is 37-year-old Randall Lee Riley of Owensboro. Deputies believe he killed the man whose body was found in that Spencer County barn.
On the first of June, the Spencer County Sheriff's Department received a call that the decayed remains of a human body had been located in a dilapidated barn east of Grandview.
Officers arrived at the scene and an autopsy was preformed the following day. It was determined that victim had died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The Spencer County Coroner Robert Fuller says that a positive ID has not yet been made on the body.
The sheriff's department says the case is still under investigation.
