HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -
After some recent fundraisers, the Humane Society of Henderson County is trying something new to raise money: an online auction.
Volunteers at the humane society say there are a couple different ways you can help out the animals, whether it's donating an item for the auction or placing an online bid.
The humane society says with fundraisers last weekend, they raised nearly $800 and adopted out 15 animals.
Now, they have an online auction through Facebook. Items from pet food to gift certificates to artwork are posted online.
Volunteers say you can place a bid on those items through the Internet, and if there's an item you'd like to donate, volunteers say you can just contact the humane society.
"We've had a lot of turnout for artwork, you do any crafts, we'd love to see that, really anything, we're taking," said volunteer Kristi Carter. "It's all for the animals. I mean if, if we don't try to take care of the animals and we don't try to raise money, nobody else will. We have to be their voice."
Bidding is open through September 30th.
