HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) -

A Harrisburg man will be recognized for his heroic actions on the day that EF-4 tornado ripped through his community.

David Murphy was working at a department store in Harrisburg, when the tornado came barreling through.

When the tornado hit the store, it threw a delivery driver and his truck into a nearby pond.

That's when Murphy used his cell phone to light up the pond, and find the driver.

Murphy and co-workers loaded the man on a pallet and drove him to the hospital.

Murphy will receive the Wireless Fountain Award on Friday afternoon at the Harrisburg Wal-Mart.
