Know Your School Night gives parents chance to walk in their kid's shoes

Thursday night, families of Henderson County High School students have a chance to meet teachers and learn about what the new school year has to offer.

It's part of the annual event "Know Your School Night".

This is an annual event but there's a little bit of a twist this year.

Parents will have the opportunity to meet every teacher as they go through their student's same class schedule in a two hour span.

During this time, families can learn about expectations from each individual class, what to expect throughout the year, as well as basic information about the teachers.

In previous years, there was only a two hour meet and greet, but school officials wanted to incorporate a similar schedule as the student, as well as the same passing periods.

Parents are encouraged to bring their child's schedule so you can be on time to each class!

The event starts at 5 p.m. with a free spaghetti dinner in the cafeteria that will be served by the principal and guidance counselors.

Then starting at 5:50 p.m. the bell will ring to go to your child's first class.

Each class lasts about 10 minutes and the event will finish up around 8 p.m.

The night also gives families a chance to learn about different clubs and activities going on throughout the year.
