August rainfall well above normal so far

Monday's rain officially came in at .45 on an inch, bringing our August total to 3.17 inches.

That's nearly 2 inches above normal through August 13th, making this the wettest month since January when 3.39 inches fell during the entire month.

Even with the August surplus, we're still 3.28 inches below normal since June 1st.  Year to date is even worse, with only 17.04 inches so far in 2012, which is 12.14 inches below normal.

The long range forecast for August 21st through the 27th is calling for cooler than average temperatures with near normal rainfall.
