A man is arrested twice in one month charged with the same offense, and what police say he did has a small town talking.
The Ohio County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Joseph McStoots has been arrested twice now for indecent exposure. Residents say they're glad he's off the streets.
On July 21st, law enforcement says McHenry resident Joseph McStoots was arrested for indecent exposure.
After posting bond, the Ohio County Sheriff's Office tells 14 News McStoots was arrested on August 3rd, again for indecent exposure.
"Was completely nude and was doing obscene gestures to a neighbor. It's unacceptable," said Ohio County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Steve Kimble. "That's a concern. Either the person is not getting the message or perhaps their thought process aren't the same as yours and mine."
Both arrests were made in the small community of McHenry, an area full of children. 14 News spoke with one of McStoots neighbors who did not want to appear on camera about the incidents.
"He's lived down here for a while, but this is the first time I've known of him doing anything like this," the neighbor said. "It just kind of concerns me about the kids out here playing up and down the street. I don't know if he gets out and comes back down here. I don't know if he would do it again or not. But he really needs some help I think."
McStoots is being held on a $5,000 bond at the Ohio County Detention Center.
"He should stay there for a long time," said resident Jessica Baize. "You don't need to be on the streets if you're going to act like that."
McStoots is due in court August 13th. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail for his alleged offenses.
