HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

In Henderson, construction is finally complete on the Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center, and a ribbon-cutting was held Friday to celebrate.

Parents and future students checked out the new facility. Any child ages three-and-a half to four years old who is ready for pre-kindergarten can attend the school.

"One of the very few, probably only the second one freestanding in the state of Kentucky, and we believe strongly that if we can get our children on a level playing field educationally, socially, and emotionally, before they begin kindergarten, they stand so much greater chance of being successful all thru their high school and college career," said Henderson Co. School Superintendent Dr. Thomas L. Richey.
