Indiana State Police Officer Curt Durnil tells News 10, Ian Long is the man behind a standoff situation in Linton.
Durnil says Long was involved in some sort of altercation on Thursday night into Friday morning, that involved a knife.
The Linton Police Department went to follow up with Long.
They currently are serving an arrest warrant for Intimidation.
That's when authorities say he refused to cooperate.
During the 7 a.m. hour, police say gun shots were fired inside the home.
Of the three children that were in the residence, a 10-year-old male was sent out to give authorities a two-way radio during the 6 a.m. hour.
Officers were able to secure that child and would not allow him to return to the house.
The remaining two children came out of the house safely just after 11 a.m. on Friday.
Currently, officials are trying to negotiate with Long to surrender peacefully, but Long has refused to come out of the residence.
