IL man airlifted to hospital after overnight wreck

Illinois State Police say a man was airlifted to the hospital after an overnight wreck in Saline County.

It happened around midnight last night.

Police say 59-year-old Homer Riden was driving a semi truck north on IL Route 34 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of IL Route 34 and Route 145.

Officials say the semi went through the intersection and down an embankment before overturning in a ditch.

Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police say Riden was taking by medical helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment.

Riden's condition is unknown at this time.

Illinois State Police say he is facing charges of Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Failure to Wear Seatbelt.
