EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
New teachers with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation gathered Thursday to begin orientation.
They'll spend a few days getting acquainted with the school, each other and their classrooms.
Teachers will be learning all about the EVSC the next couple of days and spending some time in their schools in the afternoons.
The EVSC has about 90 new teachers coming on board throughout its 38 schools. Teachers say they're looking forward to getting started.
"They seem very excited. They'll be going back to their schools and be in meetings with their current staff there and their leaders, principals so they'll be getting their rooms ready. So yeah, it's always a very exciting time, back to school," said Marsha Jackson with the EVSC.
Most schools start Aug. 15 in the EVSC.
Lincoln, Delaware, Glenwood, and Evans are already in session, and McGary opens its doors on Aug. 14th.
