EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
A group of 11 local girl scouts spent the morning taping an anti-bullying video that will be shown in school later this year.
"We're making a video about bullying, so people at school they won't be alone," said Avery Klingaman.
"I've seen a lot. There is making fun, there's teasing, telling people what to do," said Alaina Buroker.
The world through the eyes of a child can be beautiful, and carefree, but it can also be tough.
Kelsey Mitz said "I get called fat a lot. One time I was going to the gas station and they were talking about how my mom lost weight and a boy said to me, you need to lose weight."
They may not be adults, but the girl scouts of Troop 52 and 185 wanted their voices to be heard.
For their annual Take Action project these girls decided to make a difference.
"They were just so excited to come to every meeting they couldn't wait to tell me about what kind of scenes they wanted," said troop leader April Mofield.
The troop wrote, shot, and produced this anti-bullying video.
The Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana was so touched by the video, they came out to re-shoot the final scene Thursday morning.
"It breaks my heart to see them go through it and I'm so proud to see them take the subject on," said Mofield.
They hope their message will come across.
"we want to teach em that just because something happened in your life, it doesn't mean you have to take it out on other people," said Kelsey Mitz.
After all, if these little girls get it...shouldn't everyone else?
The girl's video will be shown at Tekoppel Elementary later this year with plans to have it shown at other EVSC schools.
The Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana will soon have the video up either on its website or on youtube.
