Evansville boil advisory lifted

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Evansville Water Utility is lifting the precautionary boil advisory issued August 6.

Areas included:

  • Mahrenholz Avenue from Schutte Road west to Mahrenholz Drive. 
  • Mahrenholz Drive from Mehrenholz Ave. north to dead end. 
  • Holly Drive from Schutte Road east to dead end. 
  • Walling Drive from Schutte Road east to dead end. 
  • Locust Wood Lane from Schutte Road east to dead end.

Results of the samples collected from the affected area have revealed no evidence of contamination.  Accordingly, the boiling of water for consumption purposes is no longer necessary.

The Evansville Water & Sewer Utility appreciates the cooperation and understanding of our customers throughout this incident.  While we recognize the inconvenience generated by a precautionary boil advisory, the safeguarding of the health of our customers will remain our number one priority.
