POSEY CO., IN (WFIE) -
The Black Township Trustee's Office in Posey County is hosting a "Back to School" bash today.
Several businesses, churches and individuals have donated school items for families with children about to head back to school.
This event will be held at Mount Vernon General Baptist Church later today from 2-5:30 p.m.
The Black Township Trustee's Office is hosting this and they say all Posey County residents are invited.
No proof of income is required.
They're offering lots of "giveaways."
Some of those include: free haircuts, shampoo, conditioner, hair brushes, deodorant, body wash and other personal hygiene products. Socks and underwear, and gym bags.
Also, St. Mary's Mobile Clinic will provide sign-up information for free teeth cleanings.
A drawing will also be held to win some free tennis shoes.
Additional donations may still be made by contacting the Black Township Trustee's Office by phone at 838-3851.
Again, no proof of income is required.
In fact, a special invitation is extended to middle class families.
The trustee's office says this is the community's way to thank the hard working parents for refusing to quit in a tough economy.
