WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -
A Warrick County student says some alarming, threatening things online, and now parents are wondering if their kids will be safe when they start school next week.
Warrick County School officials say, for now, it is unclear if the student at the center of this investigation will be allowed to go to the school, and that's not good enough.
I think we should take a lesson from the two recent mass shootings, one at an Aurora movie theater, and one at the Sikh Temple.
James Holmes' Psychiatrist warned the police of potential danger, before Holmes allegedly murdered 12 and injured 58.
Wade Michael Page exercised his first amendment rights online as a Neo Nazi, before he shot six people in the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin.
Now, I'm not saying this kid doesn't have his own first amendment rights, but just because someone has the right to say it doesn't mean we can't listen and react if we need to.
I, for one, think parents of Warrick County Schools have a right to demand some answers from the Sheriff's Department and Warrick County Schools System about how their children will be protected. The answers will likely dictate how many children show up for the first day of classes.
