EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
An Evansville woman arrested after a toddler was badly burned.
Police say 34-year-old Kiondra Ingram was watching her friends one and half year old daughter when the girl was brought into the emergency room, and then had to be flown to a Nashville burn unit.
Officers say Ingram told them she left the tub running and went outside to try to get her keys out of a locked car.
She says when she came back, the child was getting out of the tub and was burned.
She says she tried using ointment, called a locksmith to get her keys, and then went to the hospital.
Officers say the child's burns were to her stomach, and leg.
They say more of the girl's body would have been burned if the child fell as Ingram said she did.
Ingram is charged with child neglect with serious bodily injury. She's in jail with a two thousand dollar bond.
