HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

The Madisonville Police Department say they received a complaint of a female posing as a home health nurse.

They say she was given access to a home in Dawson Springs, and that suspect then accessed the patient's prescription medicine as well as the medical file containing sensitive information.

Police say she's described as a white female, five to five and half feet tall with a medium build. They say she has freckles, blue eyes and bright red hair with a dark streak. Authorities say she was wearing a T-shirt and scrub type pants.

Officials advise that no home health patient should allow anyone into their home who hasn't made an appointment or doesn't have proper identification visible.

Any information or possible suspect identification can be given to Dawson Springs Police at 270-797-2277 or Madisonville Police Department at 270-821-1720.
